Taken from their upcoming mini-album Shiny New Model (dropping October 11^th), ‘Knife On The Platter’ is the hard-hitting new track from BODEGA. The tune is bass-led and full of atmospheric sound, while the punky vocal delivery embraces vocalist Ben Hozie’s thick American accent. The addition of stand-up percussionist Tai Lee has elevated the Brooklyn based five-piece towards new compositional heights. Despite the chants of “knife knife knife” in the chorus, adding a layer of aggression, the luscious soundscapes that persist in the background throughout create a juxtaposing mood in this narrative track. Of its composition, Hozie says, “I was imagining a top notch Gena Rowlands-esque actress who is cast in a mediocre gothic who nonetheless elevates the script's schlocky material through her absolute commitment to authentically live each moment of the play”.
